| Description | Its a tar based sealant, a mix of resin, bee wax and tar. A similar mix OMAS used for their classic pistonfillers like old Paragon style pens. You have to dig out a tiny portion with a preheated knife tip or a small screw driver tip - then work a thin layer of it into the threads. Make sure its still soft by heating again (not with the flame please, just with hot air of around 150 degrees celsius) short before screwing back the section. Part of the sealant will get out - peel it off and put back into the jar. Any spots of sealant on the outside you can most easyly wipe of with a tissue. Heat again with hot air if needed. This sealant as well is perfect for sealing the nib units of 146 and 149 Montblanc pens. Just be very carefull to apply only a thin layer of sealant INTO the threads of the collar - in case, you apply too much, this overdose might crack the resin section. |
